Data Origin

Every listing on locallytrusted.org is generated deterministically from Google Business Profile (GBP) data — the same public record your customers use when they search for you on Google Maps. Business names, categories, contact details, ratings, and review text are all sourced directly from GBP via the Expectly data pipeline.

No editorial additions. No paid placements. No ranking adjustments. Every factual claim on every listing page traces to a specific GBP data field or a verbatim, attributed customer review. If a claim cannot be traced to a source, it does not appear on the page.

The Gift Mechanism

Businesses on locallytrusted.org are indexed without request and without cost. The directory is an unsolicited gift — a business owner who finds their listing here has not paid for it, has not applied for it, and has not been contacted in advance.

This is by design. A paid-placement directory must optimise for revenue; an unsolicited directory has no incentive to distort rankings, inflate credibility, or suppress negative data. The gift framing is the integrity mechanism. It also means that a listing here carries no implied endorsement: the directory indexes, it does not certify.

Correction Protocol

All listing data is sourced from GBP and re-synchronised regularly. If your GBP record is current, your locallytrusted.org listing will reflect that on the next synchronisation pass.
